New Delhi: Seeking prosecution of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his ministers under the Prevention of Corruption Act, on the basis of Shunglu Committee report findings, a delegation of Delhi Congress leaders on Thursday met lieutenant-governor Anil Baijal.

The Shunglu Committee report, examined “404 files” pertaining to “misuse of official position and corr-uption” allegedly in the Delhi government headed by Mr Kejriwal, said DPCC chief Ajay Maken.

The report was accessed by Mr Maken through an RTI query, in April. He had also put it in public domain in a press conference.

“We sought the L-G’s sanction under Section 19 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and 197 of CrPC, to file a case against the Delhi chief minister and his ministers who are public servants, on the basis of the Shunglu Committee report,” Mr Maken said.

The Supreme Court in its order in the “Subramanian Swamy vs Manmohan Singh” case has also laid down that even a citizen can apply to the competent authority to seek sanction for the prosecution of a public servant, he said.

“The Shunglu Committee report has unearthed instances of corruption against Kejriwal and his ministers in allotment of land and accommodation and appointments made by them on various posts,” Mr Maken said.
