New Delhi: The Delhi Assembly on Friday adopted a resolution against Delhi chief secretary Anshu Prakash demanding his removal from the post. The resolution was moved in the House by AAP legislator Alka Lamba.

“This House demands that Anshu Prakash should immediately be removed from the post of chief secretary, Delhi,” the resolution said.

It also demanded detailed examination of the reasons for delay in the implementation of CCTV project.

“This House also resolves that the delay, which occurred in implementing this decision despite the fact that the decision was taken by the government in October 2015, needs detailed examination. Therefore, the reasons for delay should be examined by the appropriate House committee,” it stated.

The Delhi Cabinet on Friday approved the installation of CCTV cameras across the city.

During the announcement of the approval, deputy CM Manish Sisodia mentioned that Mr Prakash had issued a note on the CCTV project decision, calling it “hasty”. “The Cabinet received a note from Mr Prakash, in which he has called the project approval a hasty decision,” Mr Sisodia said.
