Delhi cops on alert after police gypsy goes missing

New Delhi: The Delhi police has gone into a tizzy and is spending sleepless nights upping the security mechanism in the city ahead of Independence Day. However, adding to the misery, a police gypsy with a police sticker has allegedly gone missing. According to the source, the gypsy, which is missing or is suspected to be stolen, went missing from Tughlaq Road police station. Teams have been sent to search for the missing gypsy. 

It is said that the gypsy which was stationed at the Tughlaq Road police station was used as quick response team vehicle. The gypsy was last used from 10 am till 10 pm on August 5. The driver, who has been identified as Deepak Kumar, after finishing the duty drove it to his home in Prem gali in Kotla Mubarakpur. However, as the bylane of his house was too narrow, Deepak had parked the gypsy just 500 metre away from the house.

On August 6, when he went to check on the vehicle, he got a rude shock when he didn’t find the police gypsy. He immediately alerted the police who then visited the spot. The said police vehicle which has atleast two to three policemen manning the vehicle are armed with MP five and AK 47. With the recent arrest of the terror suspects, the missing gypsy with police sticker may prove costlier for the city police department.
