Hi-tech radios for cops for better functioning

New Delhi: Upping the security in the national capital, the Delhi police is all set to go tech savvy and entirely digital soon. Armed with more upgraded technology in hand, the Delhi police is likely to get 406 ultra high frequency hand held digital wireless sets and 474 UHF static/mobile digital wireless sets. These sets will provide automatic roaming to other areas of operation using Internet protocol-based repeater network without manual intervention.

The radios will be available with switchable radio frequency power levels to meet communication needs, such as improved coverage and conservation of battery for long life. These sets will be capable of producing superior voice quality.

These radios will have the emergency button that will allow a user to obtain help in critical situations. The new sets will have excellent voice quality and software enabled features.
