New Delhi: Amid the criticism to not give proper hearing to elected councillors, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) commissioner started meeting them.

On Friday, commissioner Madhup Vyas held a meeting with councillors of Karol Bagh, Rohini and Keshavpuram zone.

Sources said that councillors of these three zones shared the issues of their respective wards with the commissioner so that appropriate and timely action can be taken in overall interest of the citizens.

The issues put forth by the councillors were of encroachment at various places, pruning of trees and requirement of construction material for road repair and patch work. All the councillors demanded that a dog home be developed in their respective municipal wards to house stray dogs. “The commissioner directed the DC of Karol Bagh Zone that an encroachment drive be started at Basant Road in Paharganj. He further directed that encroachment be removed from NDMC’s seven-acre land in Ramesh Nagar,” he said.
