New Delhi: Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, on Friday, directed to terminate the services of six officials of three anganwadi centres in East Delhi after he found “gross irregularities” during an inspection there.

He also ordered the Delhi government officials to carry out inspection of the city’s 10,000 anganwadi centres and made an appeal to people to register their complain with the government if they come across any irregularities at such centres in their localities.

“Today I inspected six of anganwadi centres in East Delhi’s Krishna Nagar and Gandhi Nagar area and found gross irregularities at three of the centres. At these anganwadis, 75 per cent of children’s names in attendance registers turned out to be bogus when I physically visited 200 of registered residences,” Mr Sisodia said.

He also holds the women and child development portfolio. The deputy chief minister said that in May, children’s fake attendance were marked in the registers at three centres and they were getting all facilities only on papers.

According to Mr Sisodia, he has ordered to terminate the services of six officials.
