Three held for thrashing BJP MLA OP Sharma in east Delhi
However, the three accused threatened the guard of dire consequences.
New Delhi: At least three people were arrested on Monday for allegedly thrashing BJP legislator O.P Sharma and his family at his residence on Saturday.
The incident took place when Mr Sharma’s watchman stopped three men from consuming alcohol in a car parked outside the MLA’s house in Preet Vihar area. In order to check any nefarious activity, the watchman asked them to leave the place. However, the three accused threatened the guard of dire consequences.
“Suspecting a threat, the watchman immediately informed the MLA’s personnel security officer (PSO) about the incident. Soon after, Mr Sharma reached outside his residence. Reportedly, the accused attacked Mr Sharma without any provocation as soon as they saw him,” a police official said.
