Delhi: Police busts trafficking gang, rescues 3 minor girls
The gang used to look for minors at busy places like railway and bus stations in Delhi-NCR, pick them up and sell them to buyers.
New Delhi: Delhi Police on Saturday claimed to have busted a gang trafficking minor girls with the arrest of four persons and rescued three underage girls.
A 14-year-old girl had been reported missing on Friday from Geeta Colony area in Shahdara.
Efforts were on to locate the girl after registering a case, said Nupur Prasad, DCP(Shahdara).
Acting on human and technical intelligence, police managed to rescue the girl from Palla village in Gautam Buddh Nagar in Uttar Pradesh within 24 hours, she said.
The girl was produced before a child welfare committee and her statement was recorded.
It was found that she was sold for Rs 4 lakh to 32-year-old Neeraj.
In the case registered earlier, other relevant sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act were added, she said.
Neeraj was arrested and grilled by police.
He disclosed that the girl was sold to him by Anuj and his wife.
Both were arrested along with another accused Babloo, she said.
Two other minor girls were rescued from the house of Anuj.
A separate case was registered in this connection.
