Two minors killed in separate road accidents in city

New Delhi: Two minors were killed, while two others were injured in the city in separate accidents.

In the first incident, an Class 8 student died, while two of his friends, both minors, got injured after their scooty on which they were allegedly travelling rammed into a stationery cluster bus on Saturday night in Mandawali.

According to the police, the boys were returning after watching Ravana Dahan. According to the police, Tushar, 14, was riding the scooty, while Rohan, 14, was riding as first pillion and Babloo, 14, as second pillion. The police said that the trio did not wear helmets and were overspeeding.

After the fair ended, the three friends were returning home when Tushar, who was driving, failed to  see a stationery cluster bus, parked near Mother Diary. He rammed into the bus from the rear. As a result, Tushar fell from the scooty and fell on the other side of the road,  while Rohan and Babloo, both riding pillion slammed onto the the bus.

The impact was such that Rohan died on the spot, while Babloo and Tushar, who sustained head injuries, were rushed to a hospital, which referred them to Guru Tegh Bahadur hospital. The Mandawali police are probing the case.

In another case, a five-year-old boy was run over by an Eco Sport car on Saturday night after he fell from his mother’s lap.

Police arrested a 19-year-old student who was later released on bail. The accused Vivek Garg rushed the child to the Fortis hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead on arrival, the police added.
