Injured monkey rescued from DU V-C office

A two-member rescue team arrived at the location, rescued it, and rushed the injured monkey to a veterinarian.

New Delhi: An injured monkey found its way to the Delhi University vice chancellor office on Tuesday. The monkey, which was wounded badly on both its hind limbs and left forearm from a boundary wall grill, was rescued later.

A distress call by a concerned student was placed on NGO Wildlife SOS 24-hour rescue helpline and alerted it to an injured rhesus macaque that was found outside the Delhi University V-C office, North Campus. 

A two-member rescue team arrived at the location, rescued it, and rushed the injured monkey to a veterinarian.

Tenzen Notup, a PhD research scholar said, “I found the monkey lying on the pavement and was shocked to see that it was bleeding due to injuries on its arm and legs. I am grateful to the Wildlife SOS team for their quick response and for handling the situation efficiently.” 

Partick Satyanarayan, CEO of Wildlife SOS, said, “Our team of veterinarians is carrying out the necessary treatment for the injuries sustained by the macaque. The Wildlife SOS provides animal ambulance services to the wild animals in distress across Delhi-NCR region.
