New Delhi: In order to save herself from being pushed into flesh trade, a 15-year-old allegedly jumped off from a running train in East Delhi. The minor girl was being brought from UP and was being taken to Maharashtra. Rakhi (name changed) showed presence of mind and jumped off a slow moving train last week when she learnt that she was being pushed into flesh trade by her stepmother.

According to the officials, the minor hails from Lucknow. In her statement to the Child Welfare Committee on Monday, the minor said that for the last few years she was living with her stepmother in Lucknow. As per the minor, her stepmother wanted to push her into flesh trade and had allegedly spoken to an agent who had asked her to bring the girl to Mumbai. As per the discussion, the suspect came down to Lucknow to get the girl and along with her mother, they boarded a train to Delhi.

As the train reached Shahdara station and slowed down, the girl jumped off and ran for her safety. Fortunately, she landed in the hands of railway police. The girl narrated her ordeal to the officials and was later sent to a childcare centre.
