I am of the opinion that Karnataka has a lot of gems for the traveller. You don’t need to look elsewhere to satiate that weekend travel craving! I recently headed to Mysuru and checked in at the Silent Shores, to indulge in some peace and quiet. Mysuru, contrary to popular belief, has a lot to offer the luxe traveller too! I indulged in a Swedish spa and also tried a salt water bath! I believe everyone on-the-go should head to Mysuru for the same. They have a lot of rejuvenation therapies that you need to check out for yourself.

I decided to not indulge in unhealthy weekend bingeing and therefore, stuck to the simple traditional Mysuru fare. Madwa, this quaint little eatery follows a rather impressive arrangement — where one sits on the floor and savours some really healthy and delicious Brahmin delicacies.

No trip to Mysuru is complete without a visit to the Chamundeshwari Temple. I visit the temple often, and I believe in the power of prayer and its healing benefits.

My travel tip would be simple: Pack light, and keep yourself hydrated. The weather calls for food that’s light on the tummy, so stick to authentic vegetarian meals which are
available in plenty.
