Disagreements at times leading to heated arguments are something a lot of married couples face in their relationship. While both partners are affected by such rows, does the impact have something to with gender?

Research shows that while all marital rows are unpleasant, men are affected by them more than women. Conflict in marriage causes men to struggle with headaches and develop trouble sleeping leaving them in poorer health generally.

Confrontation regarding children, money and in-laws can raise levels of stress hormones that cause problems. When a partner is hostile during a disagreement and withdraws, it can cause stress that harms the immune system as well as cardiovascular health.
