Food For Thought in Fort is one place that comes to my mind when you ask this question.

Anchit Kapil from Burger Bros tells us about his favourite hidden gem in the city.

Which is one hidden gem in the city (could me a makeshift stall, a cafe, a hole in the wall restaurant) that you visited, and love going back to?
Food For Thought in Fort is one place that comes to my mind when you ask this question. Most people wouldn’t know about it cause it’s located in Kitab Khana, a library. This cozy space is a great hang out to settle down with a book and binge. It is comforting, but maybe a tad bit difficult to find space due to its limited number of tables. Walk around Kitab Khana and find a book for yourself while you wait to get your seat at Food For Thought. You’re welcomed by a whiff of freshly baked muffins and desserts, which makes more room to indulge in the offerings of this place.

How did you stumble upon this restaurant/space?
I was looking for a book one day while I was in Fort and went into Kitab Khana, hoping to find my book. To my surprise, I not only found the book, but also a delightful place to satiate my foodie desires. I stumbled into Food for Thought, this lovely space at the end of Kitab Khana, that offers food, beverages and desserts that don’t disappoint. The aroma of the food gives you no choice but to settle in.

What is the restaurant known for? What would you recommend?
The Bhel Puri Sandwich is something unusual, but extremely delicious. They have mini meals like the Italian Thali, which again is unseen. It comprises of a risotto, bake, bruschetta, pasta and salad. The Chinese Thali, another thali you cannot miss offers you some fried rice, manchurian, Chinese bhel, spring rolls and greens. Accompany your meal with a delicious Kokum Cooler or fresh Ginger Lemonade. The desserts too are extremely delicious and fresh. The salted caramel cake and Chocolate Mud Pie are absolutely sinful.

Any advice for folks trying this out?
When in need of some comfort food, this place will give you the perfect vibe and delicious food. Don’t miss out on the desserts and hot chocolate. For a mid day treat between office hours, lunch with the mini meal is a definite treat. Coffee time will be your favourite time with the desserts and beverages.

They do a great job with almost every dish on the menu. You will definitely keep going back to this one.
