At a distance of 38 km from Munnar, the famous Cheeyappara Waterfalls is located between Adimali and Neriamangalam on NH 49. Cascading down in seven steps, Cheeyappara is one of the most magnificent waterfalls in Kerala. This seven-step fall is around 1,000 ft above sea level. This is also a great place for trekking. It is noted for two acres of evergreen forests upon a huge rock. The rock is more than 500 acres in area and an ideal spot for mountaineering. The place is surrounded by lush, dense forests that act as homes to a wide range of small animals and birds.

The waterfalls are just adjacent to the highway. The falls offer spectacular views in full glory during the summer. It’s not possible to reach the bottom of the falls or enjoy the waters in the monsoon. Though the waterfall does not dry up in the summer, the best time to pay a visit is from June to August.
