An abandoned asylum, notorious for housing demonic spirits that attacked ghosthunters say has gone on the market for £1.75 million.

Situated in North Wales, the haunted househas Gothic inspired architecture, is surrounded by woodland and comes with a very spooky reputation.

The property near Ruthin, has planning permission to be transformed into a care home, only if builders don't mind working around the ghostly lodgers.

Paranormal groups who call themselves The Ouija Brothers and Dark Arts both claim the home is possessed by an aggressive spirit and carries an evil energy.

According to Ghosthunter Jason Griffiths there’s a very dark, heavy presence at Pool Park and if one does not listen to it and pay it attention, it makes itself known.

But if potential owners are willing to look past the ghostly apparitions and odd exorcism, the one time plush pad has kept many of its original features and is ripe for a renovation.

Elaborate wall wood panelling, unique fireplaces and a half-timbered facade ensured that this mansion became a luxury and impressive country manor.

According to local legend, the Bagot family lost the whole estate on a bet at the races in 1928.

In 1937 it was opened as an asylum for 87 patients by the North Wales Counties Mental Hospital to provide relief for the over-crowded nearby Denbigh Asylum, which is also said to be haunted.

Pool Park was closed in 1989. As the internal photographs show, even in 2011 the structure was starting to significantly decay.

Years of vandalism and ineffective maintenance has resulted in this former glorious gem of Wales' heritage becoming derelict.

In face, Griffiths from The Ouija Brothers says his friend Karl Hassel from Dark Arts was once attacked by an aggressive spirit and possibly possessed at Pool Park.

Two years ago ghost hunter Mark Vernon from West Yorkshire caught on camera an unexplained dark shadow rushing towards him at the property.
