Breast cancer is a major health issue putting a large number of women at risk and awareness about the condition is also rising. The internet has allowed people to access much more information about their well being than ever before and it has been playing a crucial part in campaigns to tackle breast cancer.

A woman from Texas live streamed the surgery to remove cancer from one of her breasts to 26000 people. Sonia and her doctors are hoping that making it a public affair can raise awareness and encourage many to get a check up.

One in eight American women may face the condition in their lifetime but screening and quick action can save lives. Breast cancer survivors and their loved ones across the globe are trying to bring attention to the issue by participating in runs and getting heads shaved in solidarity.
