Photographs can capture various shades and facets of life, including the subtle and intangible. Chetan Singh Gill’s photography exhibit Spiritual Fusion, curated by Dashmeet Singh and being showcased at Crown Plaza, is about experiencing and exploring human connections. It is about a connection that goes far beyond the physical and mental — the spiritual connect that speaks to the soul.

A prominent element in all the photographs is the colour saffron that lends a certain warmth to the images. “To express this kind of a connection in words is next to impossible. Which is why I tried to portray it through my photos,” said Gill, about his exhibits that are the result of two and a half years of work.

In a photograph titled “Om”, that shows leaping flames forming the Om symbol, the photographer focuses on the spiritual significance of the chant. In “Love is all”, three friends are sitting together, reflecting the simple joys of loving companionship. “Gratitude” shows an Aghori giving his blessings.

“It is not often that you can connect with an artist through their work. Chetan surprised me because most of his depictions were relatable.” said Gautam Verma, a guest at the exhibition. Another guest, Haneet Vohra, commented, “The things photographed are so ordinary but great skill has raised them to the extraordinary.”

The exhibition is on till June 30
