The government’s decision for demonetisation has garnered support from some sections of society but sparked furore among others as the move has led to people across the country having to stand in lines for hours outside banks to get their currency exchanged.

While people have been forced to spend hours of their daily lives in long cues, there have also been deaths at these lines and people have been complaining about ATMs and banks running out of cash.

But it seems people of Kerala have come up with a novel solution to this inconvenience, owing to which they won’t have to stand in lines all the time and do nothing at all.

People have been leaving their names on a piece of paper under a stone to mark their place on the line as they can relax on the side. Once images hit the social media, it became a trend as similar pictures are being posted from several places.

Although it still does require people to wait for hours to exchange currency, the smart move seems to be providing some respite thanks to cooperation between people willing to help out each other.

People have been serving water, tea and refreshments to people in cues outside the banks in an attempt to ease the difficulties they are facing.
