Couple find safe containing stolen cash and jewellery buried in their backyard

For ages people have ventured to different corners of the world hoping to find hidden treasures. But few lucky ones may stumble into them in the most unexpected places.

Maria Colonna- Emanuel and her husband Matthew were just working in their backyard when they found what looked like an old cable box under the trees. But the couple from Staten Island were in for a surprise as they found cash as well as jewellery filled with jade and diamonds in what was actually a safe.

The safe also had a letter with an address which led them to a house in their neighbourhood. They asked the neighbours if they had been robbed and police confirmed that they were back in 2011.

The Emanuel’s returned the money and jewellery to their neighbours who were grateful. The couple got a reward for the discovery but said that good karma is truly rewarding for them.
