International stars show grace as they acknowledge their peers’ work during award functions.

The Grammy’s were the talk of the town recently with a range of mind-blowing performances by various artistes. But what took the ball home, was British singer Adele, who broke her award into half to share it with the Lemonade singer Beyonce, who was nominated for the Album of the Year category as well! But Adele isn’t the first to go all out at a public setting and show her love for somebody she looked up to, who ended up being her contemporary.

Earlier this year, Emma Stone also gave a similar statement when she was nominated for best actress at the SAG awards. “I am so honoured to be in category with women whose work I have such deep admiration for,” said the La La Land star. And closer to home, Ranveer Singh too, expressed his overwhelming emotions about being nominated alongside legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and who shared the award with the Bajirao Mastani star! In his typical over-the-top fashion, he fell at the veteran actor’s feet to show him respect for his spectacular work. But that’s not all! Back before Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan had a feud, the mega star handed over his award to his contemporary in 1998 stating that, “Salman feels that I get all the awards and he doesn’t get any,” following which Salman accepted the award from him gleefully! Giving credit where it’s due, is how these stars roll!

From starting out at the bottom, to being alongside such big names is an honour for most stars! Sharing her perspective on the matter, Nabha Natesh who received the best actress nomination for her debut film, Vajrakaya, speaks up. “It’s not even about winning the award — just being in the same category as accomplished actresses like Parul Yadav and Rachita Ram, was so overwhelming. I was a debutante and calling me their contemporary seemed too unreal,” she says. But the nominations act as motivating factors for new talent too, according to Nabha. “It encourages us and gives us hope that someday we can be as good as them,” she says.
