New Delhi: Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) is all set to offer medical courses for surgeons in India. With 17,000 students across Kent and Medway, its courses span a wide range of academic and professional subject areas.

The one-year medical course offers specialised programmes in M.Ch Surgery (otorhinolaryngology), M.Ch Surgery (orthopaedics and regenerative medicine), M.Ch Surgery (urology) and M.Ch (ophthalmology).

During his recent visit to India, Anan Shetty, a professor at the university, spoke at length about CCCU’s competitive master’s programme in surgery for Indian medical practitioners.

The course supports ground breaking research in the use of stem cell technology within clinical practice. The institute houses a fully-equipped clinical simulation suite enabling clinicians to develop skill and expertise using specialised equipment.

Indian doctors seeking to pursue M.Ch (Master of Surgery) must be registered medical practitioners with a minimum of three years of work experience as a practicing clinician and IELTS score of 7.5 to secure GMC registration.

The M.Ch degree is also available through observ-ation route without GMC registration for those clinicians with IELTS 6.5.
