Behind the scenes footage of political analyst on air in shorts goes viral

An age-old belief about news anchors and guests on panel discussions has been that they only dress formally above the waist, and it seems that there may be some truth to this after all as revealed by a behind the scenes video doing the rounds on the internet.

After bloopers like anchors dozing off on air and a guest being interrupted by his children running into the frame, a political analyst was filmed by his son as he was appearing on a panel discussion for a news channel.

The video showed him dressed in a suit and tie while he was just wearing shorts below as he propped the laptop on cushions. The Jordanian analyst Majid Asfour was on air via Skype for Al Jazeera.

After Asfour’s son posted the video online, it quickly went viral. Meanwhile Asfour said that since the temperatures were high in Amman at the time, wearing shorts seemed like a comfortable option.
