It came as a pleasant surprise to all when it was revealed that PM Narendra Modi would be appearing on the popular international television series, Man vs. Wild, with star adventurer and survivalist Bear Grylls. The show that is known for its extreme encounters with the wild, will feature the PM in its upcoming episode on the 12th of August. An episode has been shot in India for the first time. Grylls released the trailer of the episode in which the PM can be seen enjoying himself, wading into the forests of Jim Corbett National Park, and the adventurer teaching him survival tips and techniques interspersed with some light moments of laughter.

On February 14 this year, PM Modi spent a few hours with Grylls inside the National Park to shoot the episode. The short clip released on Twitter saw many individuals react, including Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor, who thanked the PM for raising awareness about wildlife by saying, "Got to hand it over to PM @narendramodi ji, as he ventures into the wilderness of India along with @beargrylls in #ManvsWild. Can't wait to watch his new avatar on 12th Aug at 9 pm on @discoverychannelin. #PMModiOnDiscovery. (sic)"

Speaking about the episode PM Modi says, "For years, I have lived among nature, in the mountains and the forests. These years have a lasting impact on my life. So when I was asked about a special programme focussing on life beyond politics and that too in the midst of nature I was both intrigued and inclined to take part in it."
