Doctors in UP struggle to find woman who left hours after giving birth to conjoined twins

The woman was shocked initially but later formed a bond with the twins but discharged herself hours later.

Cases of twins born attached to each other are reported across the world and while this proves fatal in many cases, there are also instances when lives have been saved through surgery. But sometimes lack of awareness about such conditions and treatment available for them can come in the way of helping such children.

A woman in Uttar Pradesh miraculously managed to naturally give birth to children attached at the abdomen, but simply discharged herself in a matter of hours and left. While the children had their limbs and vital organs, the doctors had to call the mother back as the twins shared an umbilical cord, but are unable to find her.

The doctor told Daily Mail that while the 32-year-old woman was shocked, she developed a bond with the children. He added that if they didn’t share an umbilical cord they would’ve been stronger, but now the babies need surgery immediately for survival.

Although he referred the woman to AIIMS, the doctor is unaware of her whereabouts as she vanished later and hopes she seeks further assistance elsewhere.
