Fasting for long hours especially in the hot weather  can cause many skin problems such as dehydration, acne and dark circles. That said, however, if a proper beauty regime is followed, it is possible to maintain your skin’s natural sheen. Here are tips to consider...

  • Drink a minimum of 10-12 glasses of water after breaking the fast. It can be in the form of other liquids, too – like green tea, coconut water etc. The more you hydrate your body, the more it will reflect on the skin.
  • It is noticed that after breaking the fast, indulging in a lot of dessert and fried food is common. It is best to limit the intake of these, as it can trigger an acne outbreak. Balance your 'iftyar' with fruits, salads, grilled food and other healthy snack options.
  • This Ramzan, limit your ‘caffeine’ intake. Too much of coffee dries out your skin.
  • Due to irregular sleeping pattern in the month of 'Ramadan', it is noticed that the dark circles get aggravated. Try and give rest to your body by taking naps as and when time permits. Apply Vitamin C enriched creams on the under eye area when you sleep to help lessen the darkness.
  • Switch your regular skin care products to hydrating light weight serums during this hot weather to ensure that by the time Eid comes, your skin has not succumbed to the rigorous hours of fasting.
