Girl's lungs collapse after screaming loudly at One Direction concert

Fans of well known celebrities have been known for being fascinated by their favourite stars to an extent which often drives them to insanity. At times fans also cross the line and even end up putting their lives in jeopardy.

Popular band One Direction has a huge fan following across the globe but a 16-year-old from Texas may just be their most insane fan. Medical reports revealed that the teenager screamed so much while attending the band’s concert that it caused her lungs to collapse.

The anonymous girl was short of breath a day after the live performance and was moved to a hospital. The girl who doesn’t have a history of respiratory issues felt it difficult to breathe immediately after the concert, and doctors found it was caused due to her singing along with the boy band.

While doctors didn’t find any respiratory distress at first, a crunching sound on pressing the girl’s neck and chest with a finger indicated collapsed lungs. The condition known as pneumothorax takes place when air escapes into chest through a tear.

The girl was discharged the next day after being diagnosed and recovered quickly from the condition.
