Childbirth is a memorable moment for a lot of people and it’s also crucial for doctors who are responsible for safely delivering the baby in any situation. A number of stories about children being born on lifts and in cabs have been reported recently and such cases only get more astonishing.

In another such incident, a woman gave birth while she was being evacuated from a hospital due to wildfires which killed 17 people. The doctors had induced labour when they were forced to move Nicole Veum from one hospital to another.

Nicole was given medication to halt her contractions and she waited on a gurney for an ambulance to transport her. A c-section was performed hours later to welcome Nicole’s son Adrian to the world.

Everything was going well as the couple had even turned on opera music in their hospital room to welcome their child. But suddenly the power went out and smoke from fires surrounding the hospital entered their room.

While 80 patients were taken to different hospitals, Nicole wasn’t mobile since she was given epidural.
