The real reason why some people don't lose weight despite going to the gym every day

Going to the gym everyday is seen as a major step towards losing weight and getting fit. But sometimes people just don’t seem to shed extra kilos no matter how hard they try.

While such a situation can leave people puzzled, experts show the correct way to lose weight. Maintaining an energy deficit is the key to reduce body weight as cutting down energy by 27 to 32 KJ is needed to lose a gram.

 

So running on a treadmill at 10 km per hour for 35 minutes creates a deficit of 1500 KJ and hence only helps lose 50 gram. But doing so for a year can help a person lose 12 kg.

It may also happen that the deficit is undone when people eat too much to compensate for all the hard work at the gym. It’s also possible that people become less physically active in everyday life after activity at the gym.
