Stay snug in your hoodie!

A hoodie is the ultimate go to look for a casual day out or whenever you feel like doing absolutely nothing and just laze around. This warm and comfortable trend is just what you need for these upcoming cold months. But what is a trend if its not re-vamped every season. This season, the humble hoodie is being worn all by itself. Sometimes considered to be a very tom boy look, this trend can be jazzed up with a variety of accessories, shoes etc. In the past, we have seen actresses like Disha Patani, Priyanka Chopra and many others sport this look.

Initially made to be worn by rugby players, the hoodie has come a long way since then. Designer Prerana Sarkar adds, “The hoodie was designed to keep rugby players warm and dry in miserable weather. Since then it’s been adopted by the hip-hop culture, skaters, snowboarders, angry young adults, stag parties, university students , runways and celebs are now spotted with hoodies in many more styles.”

This hoodie with no pants trend is perfect casual day out with you gals. Designer Pooja Prasad says, “Wearing the hoodie with knee high boots will be ideal to create a balance for the no pants look. Just wearing the hoodie is a very daring look to pull off. The hoodie has to be the centre of attraction, therefore pick a hoodie which will stand out and be comfortable to wear.” Since the hoodie will be at the centre of attention, keep the rest of you outfit minimal.”

Designer Ranjeeta Sundar suggests, “The best way to spruce up this trend is by concentrating on your hair. Tie it into a messy bun, add to it a pair of geometric shades to complete the look.”

A hoodie is a very tomboyish look. Therefore while working with it, stick to being minimal. “Always remember when you style hoodies that it gives you a sporty look. So never go with heavy jewelry. You can wear studs and have nude makeup on,” Prerana adds. This trend is perfect when you do not want to put in much effort. Pooja adds, “You can style it with some statement earrings or chunky bracelets. A backpack will be perfect to complete the look.”

A hoodie can be worn anytime, “This can be sported on casual day outings with friends, for clubbing, or even for a road trip,” says  Ranjeeta.
