A din to detox

Detox or detoxification is a phenomenon that is considered as the need of the hour for 21st century.

Detox or detoxification is a phenomenon that is considered as the need of the hour for 21st century.

The primary and one of the most crucial stages of any detox programe is the diagnosis. Ayurveda offers an unquantifiable but efficient method called the Naadi Parisksha, pulse diagnosis, to help identify the presence of toxin which is free radical (Aama). From a modern diagnostic perspective, oligo scan which is a photo spectrometer can be used to detect the accumulation of toxins from heavy metal. It enables detection of the most efficient supplementation that would maximise the nutritional benefits.

A prominent advancement for diagnostic technique in the industry is Iridology that can diagnose through a careful examination of the iris. There are various points or zones that indicate different parts of an anatomy, through these points one can identify clogging or toxic accumulation.

The second stage of a detox programe is determined after the diagnostic result with a set toxic eliminationtarget. A holistic approach customised as per individuals, concentrating on dietary intake, physical activity and psychological elements is implemented.

The traditional methodologies such as Ayurveda Punchkarma and Chinese dry cupping continues to deliver effective results. We use the Virechana technique with different intensity and time-span based on the accumulation of the toxin levels. The technique drives accumulation of toxins in the intestines and followed by elimination from the nearest organ. Another such advancement is the Hydro Colon cleansing. Colon hydrotherapy is the delicate washing of the colon with warm water, to expel encrusted fecal residue, gas and mucous plaques with the use of technology.

Progressive adaptation of the body to a holistic diet which is devoid of toxins does not mean deprivation or bland diet foods. Instead, infuse your plate with a rainbow of colourful, seasonal nourishing grains, fruits, vegetables, and spices. Introspect your relationships and emotional state, and welcome self-love and compassion.
