Single colour, dual role

White on White is already a killer combination to sport. But this season, designers went one step ahead and added another layer of white to the outfits. This trend is perfect for anyone who wants to look angelic without having to put in a lot of effort. Bollywood starlets like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor have all experimented with this ethereal colour.

 “Visually this colour is very beautiful.   It tends to create a sort of wispy and angelic look and it is a great contrast to trends like Dhoti pants which are also fun. This look will take you back to a time where femininity and classics were a way of life,” says Designer Ramya who feels that white that can be worn at any time, day and age.

Designer Sparsha Pudsidappa says that some amount of colour can be added to your outfit as well. “I would love to pair a multi-coloured printed top with a white base, a white blazer and pants. Also for a night out, a shimmery white top with a pencil cut skirt is apt.” For those who would rather not add an extra layer of white to their outfit, Sparsha mentions that the third layer can be added in the form of bags, belts, shoes and jewellery.

The lovely thing about colours is that you are not forced to use just white. There is whole range of shades you can choose from.  “Experimenting with different shades of white will add depth and dimension to your outfit,” Ramya adds stressing on the fact that it is important to ensure that your white outfit is well-lined.

 Currently, the wedding season is on in full swing and what better way to make a statement than by choosing white. Designer Prachita Devi suggests, “A pretty white flowy saree paired with a sequined blouse is all you need to stand out.”  White is one colour that is very simple yet elegant, which can be dressed up or down. Prachita adds, “You can keep the look subtle with a slim belt. You can also jazz it up with a metal or gold belt. Since its white, gold accessories too stand out very well. “ She concludes by saying that this is one colour that suite any ocassion.
