St Xavier’s annual inter-college festival started with a series of entertaining events

What started as a simple idea of bringing people together in 1979, now attracts more than 40,000 spectators each year. With a workforce of over 1,200 students proficient in diverse fields, the first day of Malhar at St Xavier’s College began with much fanfare on Sunday. The three-day festival kicked off with Malhar Conclave, an interactive session between students and eminent personalities. The fest was graced by railway minister Suresh Prabhu, and actors Naseeruddin Shah and Sharmila Tagore among others. ISRO chairman AS Kiran Kumar was also present as a speaker at the conclave.

Day two witnessed students showcasing their skills in street play events, Indian folk art, and Pitch Perfect — an acappela event.
