People have been lining up at banks as many arrived even before they opened.

There have been mixed reactions on the social media to the government’s decision of declaring Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes illegal for use and replacing them by Rs 2000 notes. While there has been chaos on the streets, the social media is excited about the new pink coloured notes.

As India bids farewell to Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes that had been widely used for transactions a couple of days back, tweeple have been sharing selfies with the newly introduced Rs 2000 notes.

The development comes as several people are standing in long cues outside banks as many arrived even before banks opened this morning after remaining closed on Wednesday. Even as the debate over the decision rages on, some are just happy about new currency notes.
