Having lost West Bengal and Kerala, the CPI(M) is in dire need of a rethink on globalisation, capital, workers’ struggle, caste and women’s issues. The party cadres face problems in endearing themselves to the youth. Party general secretary Sitaram Yechury can say goodbye to dreams of a resurgence until his comrades agree on changing their left-of-centre economic and political views.
