Arunachal Pradesh governor Jyoti Prashad Rajkhowa had caused the national Opposition to stall the Winter Session of Parliament. Now, the news of a Union Cabinet decision deeming it fit to impose President’s Rule in Arunachal Pradesh confirms that Mr Rajkhowa was not acting on his own initiative. In looking to topple the Nabam Tuki government and impeaching the Assembly Speaker, for a crisis that is entirely the governor’s creation, the BJP has added to the list of political excesses committed by the Centre in the name of President’s Rule.
