By remaining underground for a fortnight he only allowed the media and right-wing politicians to cast aspersions on his character and antecedents. Mr Khalid and his comrades can only clear their name by appearing in court. Lawyers may be baying for their blood, but the courts do not hold people guilty unless proven as such. Similarly, not all of the press is biased against Mr Khalid. He shouldn’t lose faith in the judiciary and the media so easily.
