Also, both communities have protested violently to demand reservation. Haryana and Gujarat are ruled by the BJP and the Khattar government has appeased his state’s agitators by passing a law on reservation for Jats. Inspired by Jat violence yielding positive results in Haryana, some 5,000 Patidars set government offices on fire and attacked vehicles. It is ironical that even the upper castes and better-off sections are turning to reservations. But where are the jobs
