Well done, India

The UN Development Programme’s Human Development Report, released this week, brings to light the good work done by India in the last decade. Poverty has reduced as a result of greater economic growth. This sustained growth has meant improvement in the health and wellness of small children and women from weaker sections of society. Problems such as inequality still demand attention. It is imperative to bridge the gap between rich and poor, and also between the male-female divide. The road ahead is tough but the journey is worth taking.
