The government’s decision to permit Pakistan’s joint investigation team (JIT) to visit India to probe the terrorist attack on the Pathankot Air Force Base is in India’s interest and must be welcomed. It shows that Pakistan has taken a step forward and is offering help. Instead of criticising the Centre’s move as “an abject surrender of country’s national interest”, the Congress should see Pak JIT’s visit as an attempt on the part of both the countries to work together in tackling terror.
