Trump Mania

Donald Trump is protectionist on trade and hostile on immigration. The US is the sole printer of world currency and thus carries the onus of maintaining a liberal global order. If blue-blooded capitalism spawned the 2008 economic cataclysm under a Republican President, we seem to have a voluble and raw populist in Mr Trump. The tide of times could well lift him to the White House, precisely when faltering global economics and trade are in need of a tall leader. The debates have worsened our deepest fears over Trump’s mettle.
