Pope Francis seems to be the medicine that the Catholic Church desperately needs. In an appeal to all Church dignitaries, Pope Francis urged them to shun “vanity, arrogance and pride” and humbly serve the poor. In recent times, scandals like child sexual abuse and financial irregularities have rocked the Catholic Church and besmirched its sanctity. The Christian institution would do well to heed the words of its head and bring about reforms both in its working and thinking.
