With reference to your editorial, Modi plan gives India a place in the sun (July 2), I would like to state that the World Bank should be thanked for its generous loan. Solar energy is a clean and safe source of energy that is renewable. It also scores above nuclear energy because there’s no chance of a tragedy with solar energy.
Mr Modi’s push for renewable energy also receives recognition with the World Bank’s endorsement, making India appear serious about green energy and its commitment to reining in emissions. Sujit De Kolkata
