Instead of attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Uttarakhand crisis, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi should dwell on the reason as to why its nine MLAs rebelled against their own government. Mr Gandhi said that toppling governments by blatant use of money is the BJP’s “new model”. But Mr Gandhi seems to have forgotten that the division within his party led to this. It is surprising that as party’s vice-president, Mr Gandhi was unable to gauge the resentment that was brewing.
