Your editorial Where has humour gone (January 19) was wonderful. Possessing a sense of humour and the magnanimity to accept jokes are traits of a confident person, society and country. Arresting an individual for forwarding cartoons or mimicking any “godman” indicates the cancerous growth of intolerance in our society. Indians should promote India to the pedestal of greatest democracy where no “holy cow” will exist and all citizens can talk and write freely without apprehending arrest for “hurting the sentiments” of “delicate” souls.
