The beginning of the destruction of chemical weapons in Syria by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is a victory for international diplomacy. This move has not only stopped America’s military intervention in Syria, but will also, hopefully, prevent further use of chemical weapons in that country. Although the destruction of chemical weapons may not bring an immediate end to the civil war raging in Syria, it has certainly saved the lives of thousands of Syrians.
