Poor management

The explosions at the Army Central Ammunition Depot in Pulgaon, Maharashtra, shows the depot’s “foolproof” safety measures in poor light. The loss of 19 lives not only shows the enormity of the fire, but also the unpreparedness of the depot to contain it. As highly combustible materials are stored in an area demarcated for their safe-keeping, that a fire set off the explosions is shocking. Without getting into hypothetical questions, ordering a high-level inquiry will resolve the cause.
