Pension Equality

A few years ago more than 300 retired soldiers of varying ranks had returned their medals to then President Pratibha Patil as a mark of protest against pension anomalies. The present demand of soldiers is that two soldiers retiring after equal length of service and from the same rank should get equal pension irrespective of the date on which they retire. In fact, the ex-servicemen’s demand for Orop is honest and reasonable. The government should look at the equal pension demand of retired warriors with utmost seriousness.
