This is with reference to Shobhaa De’s column Strength in numbers (Jan. 10). Most of the problems faced by our country are due to rising population. It’s time the government wakes up to the grave reality and takes immediate steps on a war footing through aggressive and innovative campaigns to exhort the virtues of small families. Going forward, to control the population explosion, only one child per family should become the norm.
