Though the Bihar Assembly results were humiliating for the BJP, it need not lose heart as the electorate has resorted to cross-voting — electing one party at the national level and voting for its opponents in the state legislatures. The BJP not only captured power at the Centre, but also in seven states. Also, Uttar Pradesh, the gamechanger in the general elections, is only going to polls in 2017. There is time to fix things.
